ODE Membership

ODE recently changed their membership year to match AADE's and now has a rolling membership year.  Your membership will last for 1 year from the date of renewal.

Membership Benefits for all membership categories include:

• Password to the member's only section of the ODE website
• May participate in committees
• Directory of Diabetes Educators
• Notification of educational, networking dinner/events and social events
• Corporate member directory with links to your regional representatives
• Discount at ODE Annual Meeting

Membership Categories
Active Member shall be a healthcare professional with an interest in the development, delivery or administration of diabetes patient or professional education or in diabetes research. An Active Member shall not be one who is employed by a company that is in the business of sales or marketing of diabetes pharmaceuticals, supplies or equipment. An Active member shall have all the privileges of membership, which include the right to vote, to make nominations, to stand for elective office or a directorship position, and to chair, serve and vote on committees.

Associate Member shall be a person with an interest or involvement in diabetes education who does not qualify for Active member status. An Associate Member shall have all the privileges of membership except the right to vote, to make nominations, or to stand for elective office or a directorship position or chair committees. An Associate Member may serve on committees and vote on committees but may not chair committees.

Dues
Active: $35 per year
Associate member: $45 per year

Two options to join,
1. When you join or renew for AADE Membership, select the option to join "Oregon Chapter" in addition to your AADE Membership.

If you are unsure about your ODE Membership, you can check the status

• Click on “for the member” 
• Log in:    User name:  your email address       Password: ode123 (case sensitive)
• Click on “membership directory” (left side of page)
• Find your personal listing – at the bottom of your listing you should find the date your ODE membership expires.   (AADE /ODE members typically pay their ODE dues when paying AADE dues).

Join the ODE Facebook Group

ODE has created a "FACEBOOK GROUP" to easily keep everyone updated and connected with what’s happening locally and nationally. By joining the group you will be able to receive emails that the ODE Webmaster will send out to prompt you to go to the ODE web page for further information. Anyone can join the group, members and non-members.

1. Go to www.facebook.com. All you need is an e-mail and a password that you will create once you get started. It is best to use a home email as many work sites are banning access to Facebook. Just follow the prompts to complete creating your facebook account.

2. Once you join, on the front page of your “Profile,” go to the bottom of the page where you can find an icon of two people, this is for the “groups.” Select this and then type into search “Oregon Diabetes Educators.” You should find our group with our ODE logo tied to the AADE logo. Join the group, it is that easy.

3. When we send out e-mails through Facebook, you will see them listed in the e-mail address you used to register. You never have to go to Facebook if you don’t want to.
